Methodist Ladies College – School Campus structured cabling upgrade.

As one of Perth’s most prestigious private girls schools, Methodist Ladies College prides itself by staying at the forefront of technology so it can deliver the best learning experience for the students. The college has recently begun the roll-out of integrated smart boards, short throw projectors and wireless access points across the school. To facilitate connectivity to these devices, new gigabit data cabling and power is required from the local server racks to the classrooms.

Lightspeed were engaged to provide the new cabling to the Sumner House and Science buildings, with a tight time frame of the school holiday period. Along with the time constraints the school has many heritage listed buildings that provide major challenges to new cabling and infrastructure.

Lightspeed liaised with the IT department and the Audio Visual contractor to ensure that the project was designed to maximize the use of existing cable pathways and infrastructure which helped to minimize both cost and visual impact within the classrooms and hallways.

The project was delivered with no variations to the original scope and on budget, providing the school with a great platform and solution to roll the new technology out across the remainder of the campus.
