The City of Perth is a leading local government encompassing Perth’s CBD, Northbridge, Kings Park and extending to the Swan River foreshore in East Perth.
As part of the federal governments Smart Cities Internet of Things (IOT) initiative the City of Perth was awarded a grant to deploy a wide area network to monitor and control lighting, irrigation and numerous other IOT systems.
Lightspeed was engaged to assist in the installation of numerous LoRaWAN gateways to various locations throughout the City. Lightspeed has a strong relationship with the City of Perth and this was leveraged to gain access to these locations for the installs.
This project also involved the installation of street light controllers to the Cities existing luminaires in a diverse range of locations. These areas were chosen to trial the technology across multiple vendors fixtures with different control protocols.
Due to the location of these works it was imperative that Lightspeed worked to the highest safety standard to ensure safety for both technicians and the public. All works were completed without incident.
