City of Perth are a Western Australian local government that are responsible for the Perth Central Business District (CBD) and surrounds.

City of Perth recently put out to tender the full network and CCTV network upgrade of the Terrace Road car park, a car park that accommodates almost 800 parking bays. Through Lightspeeds’ extensive knowledge of the City of Perth and their networks plus our in-depth and diligent planning and preparation, Lightspeed were successful in being awarded this tender.

The scope of works includes the supply and installation of fibre optic backbone cabling from equipment shelters to field racks, supply and installation of category 6 cabling from field cabinets to cameras/APM/CPM and boom gate locations plus 4 core security cables to intercom locations, the supply and installation of power feeds from the main UPS to each field cabinet location and the supply and installation of electrical and communications pits and conduits throughout the car park itself.

With a large scope of works and the delicate nature of working within a massive functioning car park, Lightspeed set to work planning every aspect of the project in great detail to avoid any possible issues arising and ensure the most efficient and smooth running of the project. A concern for the City of Perth was the loss of revenue and loss of availability for their residents from the parking bays required to be blocked off for the project. Lightspeed tackled this by working during quieter car park hours where possible, giving plenty of advance notice to City of Perth for which bays would be required and when; plus providing a detailed timeline of proposed works included with their tender response. This timeline showed the care, thought, planning and consideration Lightspeed had put into the project, the same as they do for all projects to ensure a great outcome for the client every time.
