City of Perth parking engaged Lightspeed to facilitate the moving of their parking, CCTV, and IT networks from the existing small rack in the central office space to a new full size, high density rack in the new communications location.

The works Involved several restrictive parameters, including the inability to have any “down-time” for the car-park systems so that the public parking revenue was not impacted.

A work methodology was devised in co-operation with surveillance, parking and IT staff to eliminate down-time and minimise impact to the City of Perth network that reticulate through this location.

All cabling and patching was audited and recorded. Short cables were identified and either replaced, consolidated or extended as required to the new location. An “out-of-hours cutover” to the new location was undertaken and all equipment moved to the new location and re connected. All systems were back on-line by opening time.
