Special Project Achievements: Working closely with various teams on a complex network

With Perth’s expanding passenger rail network the Public Transport Authority have committed to relocating the existing rail freight facility from Bellevue to Kenwick to make way for a future railcar depot. The new facility includes a rail welding and storage facility, storage for rail maintenance machines and materials.
Lightspeed Communications and Electrical were engaged by Ekka to install and terminate fibre optic connections between PLC control cabinets within the rail welding facility. These cabinets link together the many mechanical systems across the site and require a reliable network connection to ensure they work flawlessly together.
Our team of onsite technicians worked closely with Ekka’s team to run the fibre optic cables between cabinets before terminating and testing each link ready to connect to industrial switches.
