With the global rise of electric vehicles and battery storage the demand for lithium has increased dramatically, Western Australia is one of the worlds largest producers and has existing mines have been ramping up supply to meet the increasing demand.
As part of expansion works at the Greenbushes lithium mine in Western Australia’s southwest, Lightspeed Communications and Electrical were engaged by our long-term partner Way Electrical to terminate and test an expanded fibre optic network on site.
Lightspeed’s team mobilised from Perth with one of our mine site ready service vehicles equipped with everything required to terminate, test and commission the new fibre network.
As with all mine site works our specialist team worked in with the on-site contractors to ensure that all works could be completed both safely and efficiently without interrupting either the operations or the other work taking place for the expansion.
Weather within Perth, a drive to the country, or flying to a remote mine site, Lightspeed’s team have the specialised training and equipment to complete any fibre optic project, from consultation and planning through to termination, handover, and commissioning.
