Lightspeed Communications identified that the Citiplace car parks’ UPS and communications rack was situated in an ‘ad hoc’ location without any dust free consideration or cooling.
This location was not sufficient to house sensitive equipment – Lightspeed Communications worked with the City of Perth parking technicians and management to develop a solution to address the below issues:
- Supply and installation of a suitable UPS with the capacity to provide uptime to the essential services of the carpark.
- Provide a solution to decommission the existing UPS and switch equipment and install the new equipment in a new dedicated room (keeping minimal downtime).
- Installation of electrical mains cable from the Level 1 server room to the ground floor UPS sub board, keeping carpark intercoms, boom gates and such energized from the new UPS on the floor above.
- Installation and commissioning of the new Eaton UPS, including 1 x 6Kva Online UPS Tower with Extended Battery, Bypass Switch.
