Australia is built on logistics, from mail deliveries around the corner to transporting shipping containers across the country, without trucking Australia would grind to a halt. Being a central piece of the puzzle, logistics hubs have grown to become enormous warehouses where thousands of pieces of freight move every day, and the IT systems that track and direct this freight has become the cornerstone of making things run smoothly.
When Northline decided to update their IT system at their Kewdale facility in Perth’s east, they engaged Lightspeed Communications to assist in consolidating the cabling system in their central communications rack. As the facility operates 6 days a week Lightspeeds team worked with the on-site IT team on a Sunday to minimise the disruption to operations.
The project originally consisted of consolidating existing cable terminations in the communications rack to create more usable rack space for new and updated IT equipment, it grew to include assisting IT with racking in new equipment, removing and replacing the existing rack and many other tasks to make sure the changeover went as smoothly as possible.
As always Lightspeeds technical team worked diligently and professionally to help make the changeover a success, going over and above to get the best outcome for our clients.
