City of Perth are a local government area and body, responsible for the Perth CBD and surrounds. City of Perth and Lightspeed Communications & Electrical have a long history of working together to improve the City’s’ infrastructure in various facets. Lightspeed and the City are proud to have partnered together in their latest project to upgrade the entire CCTV network at the City of Perth Depot.

City of Perth approached Lightspeed to find a solution to their issues with their CCTV network at their depot. Lightspeed audited the depot network and found it to be sub-standard, causing issues with reliability and future expansion potential. Lightspeed worked closely with the City of Perth to design a new vision for the depot to fix and repair the current infrastructure, with a view to expand in the future.

To achieve this goal, a team of Lightspeed technicians worked tirelessly every day on the project for several weeks to ensure continuity and prompt completion for our client. Works included:

• Using cable locators to accurately locate and mark existing conduits
• Installation P5 pits with steel lockable lids for safety and security
• Installation of new conduits, along with the removal and top-quality reinstatement of bitumen and ground surfaces where required
• Installation of galvinsed cowlings for protection
• Installation of new underground Cat6 cabling and 12 core SM fibre optic cable
• Building and installation of new trenches
• Installation of new IP rated cabinets and network switches
• Testing and commissioning
• Supply all as-constructed drawings and red-lines upon completion of the project
